How the scan works

What gets checked, what the score means, and what you walk away with.

What does this scan actually check?

The scan fetches your page the way an AI crawler does — plain HTTP, no JavaScript executed — and reports four things: whether AI crawlers are allowed to reach you, whether your structured data identifies you, whether your content is shaped so an engine can quote it, and whether Perplexity actually cites your domain for real buyer questions.

Why is my site invisible to ChatGPT when it ranks fine on Google?

Because Google renders JavaScript and AI crawlers do not. GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot download your JavaScript and never execute it, so a client-rendered app serves them an empty shell. The page can rank normally in search while being entirely absent from AI answers — we found exactly this on our own site.

What is a good AI-visibility score?

Above 80 means engines can reach and parse you; below 50 usually means something structural is blocking them, like client-side rendering or a robots.txt that excludes AI agents. The middle is genuinely ambiguous and depends on your category. Treat the ranked fixes as the signal, not the number.

What do I get at the end of a scan?

A ranked list of fixes ordered by impact against effort, plus the actual files that close the gaps: a robots.txt that welcomes the search-index crawlers, schema markup for your business, a sitemap, an llms.txt and an agents.json. They are generated from what is really on your page, not from a template.

Do I need an account to run a scan?

No. The first scan is free and needs no signup or card. An account matters when you want scans stored, scheduled re-checks, or the monitoring history that shows whether a fix moved anything — a single scan tells you the state today, not the trend.

Scans read the HTML your server actually returns. If your content is assembled in the browser, that is what an AI crawler misses too — and the report will say so.
