Terms of Service

Effective 28 July 2026. We update this page when the product changes, not on a schedule.

These terms cover your use of LinkAudit. They are written to be read, not to be survived — if something here is unclear, ask us rather than guess.

What the service does

LinkAudit fetches a public web page you nominate, analyses it, and reports how visible it is likely to be to AI search engines and to traditional search. Some plans also re-check pages over time and store the trend.

You may use it through the website or, where available, through our API. Access to specific features depends on your plan.

Accounts

You need an account for anything that stores results. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your email address, since that is how account recovery works.

One account is for one person or organisation. Do not resell scans or share credentials to give a third party access to a plan they have not paid for.

Acceptable use

When you submit a URL, we fetch it. That means you are directing traffic at a server. You agree to:

  • submit only publicly reachable URLs, and not attempt to make us fetch internal, private, or authenticated endpoints;
  • not use the service to overload, stress-test, or otherwise attack a site, whether or not you own it;
  • not attempt to circumvent plan limits, credit accounting, or rate limits;
  • not scrape or resell our output as if it were your own analysis product.

We may suspend an account that is doing any of the above, and we do not need to wait for it to cause damage first.

What the scores are, and are not

Part of what we report is measured and part of it is estimated, and the report labels each one. Where we say a result is measured, we sent a real query to a live AI search API and inspected the sources it returned. Where we say estimated, no public API reports that information, so the score is inferred from signals on your page.

An estimated score is a modelled opinion. It is not a prediction, not a guarantee, and not a statement about what any AI system will do tomorrow. AI search engines change their behaviour without notice and without publishing what changed.

We do not guarantee that following our recommendations will produce citations, traffic, rankings, or revenue. Anyone in this category who does guarantee that is guessing.

Your content

You keep all rights to the pages you scan and the data in your account. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service: to fetch the page, process it, store the result against your account, and show it back to you.

We may use aggregate, de-identified statistics about scans in general — for example, what share of scanned sites block AI crawlers — to improve the product and to write about the state of AI search. This never identifies your account, your domain, or your results.

Plans, credits, and payment

Paid plans are billed in advance through our payment provider, who acts as merchant of record. Prices and plan limits are those shown on the pricing page at the time you subscribe.

Scan credits attach to a billing period and do not roll over unless the plan says so. Cancelling stops future billing and leaves access in place until the end of the period you already paid for.

If a scan fails because of a fault on our side, tell us and we will restore the credit.

Availability

The service is provided as-is. We do not offer an uptime guarantee. We depend on third-party AI providers, and when one of them is degraded or rate-limits us, parts of a scan may return incomplete — the report will say so rather than silently substitute a fabricated result.

Features described as forthcoming are not commitments, and we may change or withdraw any feature.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost traffic, lost rankings, lost revenue, or business decisions made on the basis of a report.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.

Ending it

You can stop at any time from account settings, or by emailing us. We may terminate an account for breach of the acceptable-use section, or for non-payment.

On termination we delete your account data as described in the Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms

We update this page when the product changes and revise the effective date above. If a change materially reduces what you get on a paid plan, we will email you before it takes effect.
